Großdeuben Manor

The Probstdeuben manor was owned by the von Döbitz family in 1403. From 1415 to 1631, the estate was owned by the von Zehmen family. Ownership changed in 1652 to Friedrich Brand von Lindau, in 1703 to General Georg Friedrich von Hopfgarten, and in 1717 to the Leipzig councilor Peter Hohmann, who had the current manor house built. Thereafter, ownership passed to the von Hohenthal family, in 1864 to Oskar Heinrich Enke, in 1869 to the Leipzig banker Friedrich Jay (who had the park redesigned and the manor house rebuilt), in 1900 to Mr. Beyrich, and in 1902 to the Jay family. In 1961, the Jay family left the GDR and the property passed to the municipality. From 1999 to 2013, the manor complex was renovated.
