A manor house in Callenberg is already mentioned in 1244. Around 1805, the knight's estate was moved to the eastern edge of the village and rebuilt into its current form in 1880. Owners included Dietrich von Kauffungen, the Lords of Waldenburg, and in 1790 the Counts of Schönburg. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Today the house serves as a company headquarters.
