Beucha Manor

In Beucha, a manor house owned by the von Haugwitz family is first mentioned in 1225. In 1551, the estate was elevated to a knight's estate. Ownership changed to Wolf von Ende and in 1622 to the von Kötteritz family, who built a new manor house on the walls of a predecessor building in 1654-56. After this, ownership changed in 1723 to Tobias Ludolph von Zehmen, Count von Hopfgarten, and in 1792 to the Niebecker family. They had the current manor house built in 1811-13. Ownership changed in 1901 to Alfred Freiherr von und zu Egloffstein and until their expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945 to the Steiger family. After the war, the house served as a cooperative store and kindergarten. Since 1997, the manor house has been in private ownership.
