Altoschatz Manor

Uninhabited

Altoschatz, located in the south of Oschatz, features a manor house which once originated from two outworks. In 1629, the aforementioned outworks were united. Owners of the manor were the noble families von Zeicha, von Nossen, and von Schleinitz, before the estate passed into the possession of bourgeois owners in 1678. The manor house was built in 1715. It was rebuilt in the 19th century. The curved arched gable is a typical feature of the building. It was created during another renovation in 1902. A Schubert family was the last owner before the estate was expropriated in 1945. Around 1980, the castle was renovated again. Unfortunately, it stands empty today.
