Cigalini Palace (Coldrerio)

The Palazzo Cigalini in Coldrerio, today Casa Quadri, is located in the Villa district. The building dates back partly to the 17th century and partly to the 18th century. It was built for the noble Cigalini family from Como, who owned land in Coldrerio and spent their summers in the village. The house has an irregular floor plan and encloses the courtyard in an L-shape. A small arched hall opens onto the west facade. The three rows of loggias inside are supported by Tuscan columns. Noteworthy are the painted wooden ceilings of the halls and a fireplace with the Cigalini family coat of arms. The house was restored in 1983/84 (roof and facades), and later also the interiors.
