Palais Abensperg-Traun

The corner palace in Neo-Renaissance style has its main facade facing Weihburggasse. A round tower is placed in front of the corner, reaching up to the third floor, the bel étage, while the building edge above it is chamfered. The two lower floors, ground floor and mezzanine, are rusticated and interrupted in Weihburggasse by a mighty basket-arch portal framed by lateral pilasters. Above the portal, flanked by two vases, the coat of arms of the Abensperg-Traun family is affixed - a cartouche with a crown, divided lengthwise, half silver, half black. Above the portal, on the bel étage, a balustrade balcony extends over three window axes. The balustrade and a cornice are continued across the entire facade and emphasize the bel étage. The windows are alternately provided with triangular and segmental pediments, resting on Ionic three-quarter columns. The uppermost floor is richly decorated with stucco ornaments.
