Overcinge (Manor)

Overcinge is a stately manor house in the Dutch province of Drenthe, distinguished by its long history and 18th-century architectural character. It is nestled in the landscape of Havelte and represents the residential culture of affluent families in this region.
History+
The origins of the Overcinge estate date back to the early 14th century when it was first mentioned in documents. In the 15th century, the property was owned by the De Vos van Steenwijk family. Later, in the 17th century, ownership passed to the Struuck family. A significant turning point occurred in 1720 when Wolter Kymmell acquired the estate and had the manor house visible today constructed. In 1876, another change of ownership took place, transferring to Ida Elisabeth Kymmell, a daughter of the then-owner, and Johannes Linthorst Homan.
