Elstertrebnitz Manor

A manor house in Elstertrebnitz is first mentioned in 1079. In 1478, a knight's seat of the von Weißbach family is named. In 1548, it was elevated to a knight's estate. Ownership changed in 1629 to the von Oebschelwitz family, in 1751 to Johann Bettermann, and in 1795 to Christian Gotthold Bennemann. The latter had the current manor house built in 1796 on the walls of a predecessor building. Thereafter, ownership changed in 1809 to Pastor Scheibe and in 1835 to Siegismund Germann. He merged the two knight's estates and dissolved the Upper Knight's Estate in 1839. The arable land was added to the Lower Knight's Estate. The manor house with outbuildings came into the possession of the nearby mill. This explains the commonly used name "Mühlengut" (Mill Estate) today.
