Upper Castle Besigheim
The Upper Castle+
Of the once mighty Upper Castle, the 36 m high main tower (Schochenturm), built in 1220, and the stone house are still preserved today. In the tower there is a tower warden's apartment, which was named after one of the wardens (Schoch). The stone house with its imposing, seemingly repellent gable is connected to the tower via the arch of the city gate. It is the former residential building of the castle.
