The New Palace in Emmendingen+
The New Palace in Emmendingen was built in 1789-90 according to plans by the regional master builder Carl Friedrich Meerwein for Margrave Karl Friedrich. The palace was planned as a widow's residence for Luise Karoline Geyer von Geyersberg (Imperial Countess Hochberg). Eventually, the palace served as a regional bailiwick. Since 1857, the New Palace has served as the seat of the District Court.
