The New Palace+

The New Palace was built between 1729 and 1735 as a widow's residence for Princess Elisabeth Albertine of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen. Today, it houses the Palace Museum. The most important exhibition is the unique baroque doll city Mon plaisir by Princess Auguste Dorothea from the first half of the 18th century. Furthermore, since 2009, it has also housed the Bach exhibition about the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and his numerous musically active relatives in Arnstadt.
