Morungen New Castle

Schloss Morungen+
Schloss Morungen was built between 1865-73 by Baron Emil Freiherr von Eberstein. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After this, the castle served as a spa facility for the health insurance fund of the GDR. As late as March 1989, the new chandelier was installed in the Great Hall. On June 20, 1995, the businessman Peter Klaus Glaser from Munich acquired the remaining castles in Morungen, the so-called old castle and the new castle. In 1995, the castle was privately sold.
