Mountcashel Castle
Mountcashel Castle (Ballymulcashel) is in Kilmurray, County Clare, Ireland. The castle tower was built in 1460 by Conor na Srona O'Brien, King of Thomond. 1580 the ownership changed to Teige Oultagh O'Brien, 1585 to Shane O'Riodan, 1602 at Turlough O'Brien (son of Teige), 1622 to Hugh Hogan (priest) and in 1641 the crown of England. Thereafter changed the ownership of Barnaby O'Brien (6th Earl of Thomond), Thomas Benes and Bartholomew Stackpoole. 1654, the castle was destroyed by British troops and thereafter rebuilt. 1702 of the property was leased to Thomas St. John. 1970 Seamus Houlihan bought the castle and restored it. In 1976, the ownership changed to O'Casey and 1996 and Mark Martin O'Farrelly MacMahon
