Madonnen Castle
The small castle was built in 1923 by Hussar Major Georg Gyömörei as a "spite castle" after disputes with his brother-in-law Count Almasi, owner of Bernstein Castle. The ground floor is built of serpentine stone. The two upper floors are separated by a wooden beam construction, which shows elaborate carvings. There are two gargoyles on the roof. In 1957, the spite castle was acquired by the Austrian Red Cross as accommodation for refugee children. Today it serves as an event center.
