Lilleborg – The Royal Castle+
Lilleborg (Danish for "small castle") was built in the middle of the 12th century as a royal fortification on Bornholm, Denmark. The castle was by no means comparable to Hammershus Castle, where the archbishop resided, but it was nevertheless strongly fortified. The castle was built on a 16-meter high cliff, which in the Middle Ages was completely surrounded by Lake Borresø. Coins from after this period have also been found, indicating that the castle was inhabited even after its destruction.
