Liebfrauenberg Church

The church's origins date back a long time. From 1470 onwards, an existing fortified church was extensively renovated and expanded. A crucifix, still found in the church today, also dates from this period. In the 17th century, specifically between 1657 and 1658, master builder Michael Beer added a Loreto Chapel as a side aisle. At the same time, he improved the bastion-like defensive tower of the church fortification from around 1500 by installing a spiral staircase and adding a bell story with a tent roof. The Loreto Chapel was redesigned in 1757 and has since housed the miraculous image, a carved Madonna figure from 1470, surrounded by a Rococo altar. Another chapel, the Fridolin-Stein-Kapelle, was built in 1690 beneath the sacristy. The current rectory was erected in 1717, and a war memorial was added in 1951.
