Laarwoud (Manor)
Laarwoud is a stately manor house located in the Dutch province of Drenthe. The estate, with its origins in the early 17th century, is a remarkable example of the region's historical architecture.
History+
The construction of the current Laarwoud building took place at the beginning of the 17th century under the patronage of the Van Selbach family. Over time, the manor changed hands and came into the possession of Alexander Carel van Heiden tot den Dam, who lived from 1709 to 1776. Later, the estate was transferred by inheritance to Milly van Heiden Reinestein. She sold Laarwoud to the local municipality in 1915.
