The monastery was founded in 1491. It was dedicated to Saint Anthony and served as a convent for the Order of the Crosiers. For several centuries, the monastery was a hub of religious and cultural activity in the region. Its existence concluded with the secularization in 1802, when it was dissolved along with many other ecclesiastical institutions.
