Royal Palace (Domdechanei)
The palace was built in 1728 as the Deanery by Giovanni Simonetti. In 1808, after the French occupation of the city of Magdeburg, the palace served as the quarters of King Jérôme of Westphalia. From 1812, the palace served as the seat of the General Command and the Prussian Governor Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia. In 1892, the city museum was housed in the building. In 1945, the palace was destroyed during the senseless air raids and rebuilt after 1986.
