Klosterschule vom Heiligen Grab

The monastery was founded in 1670 by Margravine Maria Franziska and Margrave Leopold Wilhelm of Baden. The completion of the building in 1689 was soon followed by a fire, set by French troops in Baden-Baden. The nuns subsequently sought refuge in Forbach and later in Rottenburg am Neckar, while the church largely survived the blaze. Around 1700, school operations resumed, and by 1740, the monastery was rebuilt, followed by the construction of a second wing in 1744. Margrave August Georg Simpert of Baden endowed the boarding school building in 1769. In 1895, the monastery buildings and the church received their current Neo-Baroque appearance. The Sepulchrine nuns inhabited the monastery until the end of 2001, after which it was dissolved and has since served exclusively for educational purposes.

The former monastery buildings currently house a grammar school. The complex is a protected cultural monument in Baden-Württemberg.
