Eicha Manor

A monastery was founded in Eicha in 1490 by the Saxon Elector Frederick the Wise. He handed the monastery over to the Antonine Order. In 1494, the monastery was completed by the master builder Conrad Pflügler. Extensive construction measures took place in 1505. In April 1525, the Saxon Elector bought the property. In December 1525, the property was transferred to Hans von Minckwitz. In 1526, the monastery church was demolished. In 1547, the Elector gifted the property to the Georgenhospital Leipzig. From 1815 to 1883, the estate was owned by the Dietze family. From 1890 until their expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, the estate was owned by the Counts of Schönburg-Waldenburg. From 1952 to 1990, it was used by the LPG "Max Reiman". In 1990, the estate was renovated and has been in private ownership ever since.
