Lamspringe Abbey
The former Lamspringe Monastery is located in Lower Saxony, in the district of Hildesheim. The complex, which dates back to a Benedictine nunnery of the 9th century, was once a significant economic enterprise and the only English monastery in Germany.
History+
The founding of Lamspringe Monastery took place in the years 872/873. It was consecrated to Saint Mary, Saint Hadrian, and Saint Dionysius. In 1803, the monastery was dissolved and secularized.
