Educational Use

The Gymnasium Fund operates the Himmelthal Vocational Training Centre (BBS Himmelthal), a non-profit GmbH.

For over 25 years, BBS Himmelthal has been recognized as a competent provider of vocational preparation and qualification. The focus of this vocational and educational work is on supporting so-called disadvantaged young people.

Currently, young people exclusively receive qualified offers, help, and support for their integration into professional and working life in support courses with boarding school from a multi-professional team (masters, social pedagogues, educators, teachers, psychologist). These vocational preparation courses are carried out on behalf of the employment office.

In addition, the Elsava School for Educational Support Himmelthal is operated here by the Gymnasium Fund of the Aschaffenburg Foundation Office, a private institution for children and young people with high educational needs in the Bavarian Untermains region. The local authorities, consisting of the districts of Miltenberg and Aschaffenburg and the city of Aschaffenburg, thus address the increased need in our society for suitable places for young people who are still subject to compulsory schooling but are increasingly withdrawing from school influence due to their behavioral problems.

The educational support institution consists of a school for educational support and an integrated therapeutic day care center. School administrations at the secondary level contact the school for educational support if necessary, requesting an assessment of a student regarding increased educational needs.

Cultural Use

For over 15 years, the "Himmelthal Summer Concerts" have been held in the monastery church. Every second Sunday of the month, the Weinbauverein Rück e.V. (Winegrowing Association Rück) serves its self-produced wines in the wine tasting room.
