Kloster Götschendorf

The Götschendorf Monastery was founded in 2007 by a decision of the Supreme Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. The initiative for its establishment came from journalist Norbert Kuchinke, who discovered the site in 2006. After acquiring the area, construction of a church in the North Russian style began. The first monks moved into the monastery in 2011, and a cross on the dome was consecrated in 2013. In 2015, a memorial cross was consecrated on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the end of the war.

The Götschendorf Monastery is located in Uckermark, a region in the federal state of Brandenburg, Germany. It is situated in the village of Götschendorf on a four-hectare site.

The monastery complex houses a Russian Orthodox church nearing completion, a residential building for the monks, a guesthouse, and other ancillary buildings. It serves as an active monastery of the Berlin Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
