The origins of the Poor Clares' Monastery of Pfullingen date back to the mid-13th century. Construction began in 1250, and by 1252, the order's rule was confirmed by Pope Innocent IV, marking the official establishment of the community. The Poor Clares, a female branch of the Franciscan Order, settled the monastery and shaped the religious life in the region for centuries. The community existed until approximately 1590, when the last remaining nun converted to Protestantism, sealing the monastery's fate.
