Kasteel Radboud
Radboud Castle (nl.: Kasteel Radboud) stands on the eastern side of the harbor in the Netherlands Medemblik.
Floris V of Holland gave in 1282 to build the castle Medemblik in order. The castle was besieged several times and meanwhile served as a prison. During the Eighty Years War siege to the castle in 1572 and 1588. From the 17th Century, the castle fell into disrepair. Later parts of the castle were demolished. In 1889 the state took over the castle and restored it. From 1897 until 1934 in a castle hall was the district court Medembliker located. After restoration in the years 1964 to 1965 in the castle is a museum.
