Karmelitenkloster Dahme

The exact founding date of the monastery is not known; an initial mention from 1304, describing a donation to the monastery by Hans von Dahme, is considered uncertain, as the document exists only as a 16th-century copy and a Hans von Dahme is not attested for that period. The monastery's existence is confirmed from the mid-15th century, when a 'Terminei' in Jüterbog was mentioned in 1475. In 1506, the monastery received timber for the celebration of an eternal mass. The dissolution of the monastery likely occurred between 1543 and 1564. In 1564, the Archbishop of Magdeburg handed over the already abandoned complex to the city of Dahme after a city fire.

The monastery was situated in the southern part of the medieval city of Dahme, nestled between the main street and the city wall. It is located in the Teltow-Fläming region in the state of Brandenburg, Germany.

The former monastery church was rebuilt in the Baroque style between 1732 and 1734. Later, hospital buildings and an orphanage were constructed there. In 1924, small retirement apartments were installed in the western part of the church, which became unusable after a lightning strike in 1998. Since 2012, this area has housed an inn.
