The former Capuchin monastery in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria, is a historic structure that once played a significant role in the religious life of the region and continues to serve as a pilgrimage site today.
History+
The monastery was founded in 1622 by Eva Maria von Lerchenfeld. It was built near the city wall on the Russelberg. Six years later, in 1628, the church dedicated to Saint Francis was completed. In 1729, the complex was expanded with the addition of a chapel of the cross. The monastery's existence concluded in 1803 with the secularization.
