The former Johanniterkommende Nesselhof in Floh-Seligenthal, situated in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia, was once a significant establishment of the Order of St. John. History+
The Johanniterkommende Nesselhof was founded in 1290, thereby establishing a long tradition as a spiritual center. For centuries, the commandery was dedicated to Saint Nicholas and served as a base for the Knights Hospitaller. Its existence as a monastery concluded in 1540 when it was dissolved during the secularization.
