The history of the Johanniterkommende Dätzingen began in 1263 with its foundation. For centuries, the Order of St. John shaped the life and development of this place. The monastery was dedicated to Saint Barbara. In the course of secularization, the commandery was dissolved in 1805, marking the end of its monastic function.
