Springe Castle

Jagdschloss Springe is a hunting lodge in the Saupark near Springe am Deister. Today, it serves, among other things, as the Museum for Nature – Hunting – Culture and the Jagdschloss Springe Hunter Training Centre.

The hunting lodge was built between 1837 and 1842 by Georg Ludwig Comperl and possibly according to plans by Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves.

The Hanoverian banker Wilhelm Pleister supported the expansion of the castle for use by the Lower Saxon hunting community.

After the renovation in the years 1965 to 1967, the "Museum for Nature – Hunting – Culture" found its place in the building, as did the Jagdschloss Springe Hunter Training Centre. The training centre was temporarily supervised by the forester and hunting scientist Friedrich Türcke.
