The Hunting Lodge+
The hunting lodge, located opposite the main entrance of the castle, was built in 1555 by Duke Christoph. It was formerly also known as the New Castle. Later, the chief bailiff resided here, and from 1755, the tax official had his seat in the New Castle. From 1810, it served as a hunting lodge for King Friedrich, who enjoyed hunting in the surrounding forests. From 1817, the forestry office was housed here; today, it is the seat of the tax office.
