Kloster Reuschberg

Hof Reuschberg in Bavaria, a former Pallottine monastery building, is now a listed monument in Aschaffenburg. The main buildings are arranged in a horseshoe shape open to the northeast and are picturesquely situated at the foot of the Reuschberg.
History+
In the early Middle Ages, Hof Reuschberg served as an extensive farm complex and was part of the Gelnhausen Palatinate. Around 1250, ownership transferred to the Counts of Rieneck, who ceded the estate to the Electorate of Mainz in the 14th century. A comprehensive renovation of the residential buildings and the entire farm complex took place around 1720. Around 1800, the operator of the Großkahl glassworks acquired the estate, followed by the Counts of Öttingen as subsequent owners. The Forstmühle in Schöllkrippen belonged to the estate's property until the early 19th century. In 1924, Hof Reuschberg was sold to the Pallottine order. The current chapel and the padres' room were built in 1938, and the monastery was managed by the brothers themselves, with the Maria Hilf Mission House being established. The 92.5 hectares of forest and agricultural land belonging to the monastery have been leased since World War II. In May 1967, the monastery was closed.
