Ten Berge Manor

The Ten Berge manor is first mentioned in 1454 as being in the possession of the Counts and later Dukes of Cleves. Today, many documents and writings attest to the further economic and cultural significance of the farm complex in Kleve-Kellen on the Lower Rhine. A Prussian state estate at the beginning of the 17th century, then privatized and further expanded, it became an important agricultural center. From 1920-1959, HOF TEN BERGE housed the continuing education center for farmers. After the Hortmann family ceased farming, the old farm complex with its fortified tower on the dike was taken over and renovated by the C.M. Wilmsen family in 2001. Its historical significance is recognized by its entry in the monument list of the city of Kleve in 2003. Today, HOF TEN BERGE houses a dance school, craft businesses, studios, offices, event facilities, and apartments.
