The mansion is located on the peninsula Kålland stole about 13 kilometers north of the Swedish city Lidköping. The estate is in the 12th Century mentions. At the time of Gustav Vasa was inhabited by Anders Ekeblad in whose family it remained for many generations. The present mansion was built from 1713 to 1719. The interior of the mid-18th Century, was designed by architect Carl Hårleman and is largely preserved. The manor stole was declared a cultural monument in 1966.
