An estate in Stemmen is first mentioned in 1258. From 1560-80, the estate was rebuilt. From 1671 to 1795, the estate was owned by the von Reden family. They erected the gatehouse in 1672. In 1875, ownership changed to the von Rössing family, who extended the manor house with two tower structures in 1875. Currently, Jahn Friedrich Freiherr von Rössing is the owner of the estate.
