Putzkau Manor

In 1379, a manor house was mentioned here. The brothers von Haugwitz, a well-known Saxon noble family, were the first owners. In 1411, the fiefdom "Nedir poczkow" was confirmed by the Bishop of Meißen to Otto von Haugwitz. From 1724 to 1728, the Putzkau estate belonged to Count Jakob Heinrich von Flemming, then Saxon cabinet minister and field marshal general. In 1751, Andreas von Riaucour, Catholic Baron, Privy Councillor and Saxon envoy, acquired the Putzkau estate. The family owned the manor until their expropriation. After 1951, a children's institution was housed in the building. The members of the Rittergut e.V. initiative have transformed the property into the jewel of the village. After almost a year of construction, the manor house was handed over to its new purpose in 2008. It is intended to establish itself as a central meeting point and contact point for associations in Putzkau.
