Oelzschau Manor

Herrenhaus Wese+
Geschichte+
The estate settlement with its block-shaped fields and 566 hectares of land was first mentioned in 1251 as Vis. A knight's seat was mentioned in 1480, from which a knight's estate developed over time. During the Thirty Years' War, the manor house was damaged and subsequently rebuilt. In 1724-26, Heinrich Gottfried von Weßnig had the current manor house built. After this, ownership changed in 1812 to Anton von Böhlau. In 1945, the last owner, Else von Böhlau, was dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
After the war, the manor house served as a school. Today it is in private ownership.
