Oberottendorf Manor

The Oberottendorf Manor House is located at the end of an elongated village near Neustadt on the border with Lusatia. In the Middle Ages, Oberottendorf was under the jurisdiction of the Meissen bishops. Later, the village came under the feudal lordship of the Saxon electors. The von Haugwitz family is mentioned as an early owner of the knight's estate. Later, the estate came into the possession of the von Wehse families of Langburkersdorf and von Pflugk. In 1744, Christiane Friedericke von Keyserling inherited the property. She was born von Pflugk and married Colonel Hermann Friedrich von Keyserling. Around this time, the manor house with its gigantic mansard hip roof was probably built. The family owned this estate until 1830. Today, the building is unfortunately falling into disrepair. Also noteworthy is the adjacent park, which is adorned with two small lakes.
