Löthain Manor

The Löthain manor is a former knight's estate in Löthain, a district of the municipality of Käbschütztal in Saxony. The manor house, which still exists today, was built in the 18th century. The estate was first mentioned in a document in 1334. Over the centuries, the manor changed hands many times. Among the most important owners were the families von Miltitz, von Schleinitz and von Schönberg.

At the end of the 18th century, the manor came into the possession of the von Römer family, who owned it until 1945. During this time, the manor was extensively renovated and expanded. The manor house received its present appearance in the classical style. The park was also redesigned and expanded.

After the expropriation in 1945, the manor was initially used to house refugees and displaced persons. Later, the municipality used it as a school and for apartments. In 2000, the manor house was sold and has been vacant ever since. The outbuildings are still used for residential purposes.

The manor house is a two-story building with a hipped roof. The facade is structured by pilasters and cornices. The main entrance is emphasized by a portico with four columns. The windows are rectangular and have sandstone frames. The interior of the manor house is largely preserved in its original condition. Especially noteworthy are the ballroom with its stucco ceiling and the historic staircase.

The Löthain manor is a listed building. The manor house is in need of renovation and is looking for a new owner who will restore it to its former glory. The park is overgrown in places, but still offers a beautiful backdrop for the historic building. The outbuildings are still inhabited and are in good condition.
