Kreischa Manor

In Kreischa, a early German moated castle owned by Heinricus de Kryschowe was first mentioned in 1282. Ownership then passed to the castle lords of Dohna. In 1396, ownership changed to Heinrich von Rechenberg, in 1420 to the Lords of Einsiedel, later to the Lords von Schönberg, and in 1455 to Mülich von Carlowitz. The latter converted the old castle into a manor house. Ownership changed in 1710 to Heinrich Ernst von Wolframsdorf, in 1765 to the von Döring family, in 1769 to Marie Antonie von Sachsen, and in 1786 to Friedericke von Reinhold. She had the manor house fundamentally rebuilt and redesigned the park in the English style. After this, ownership changed in 1825 to Juliane Metzradt and in 1863 to Ferdinand Haussmann. From 1914 - 1918, a military hospital was located in the manor house. Ernst Miltzow was the last owner of the manor house until his expropriation and expulsion by the communists in 1945, and he had it rebuilt again in 1935. In 1946, the municipal council moved into the house, and it became the Kreischa Town Hall.
