History+
Early History and Construction
The Rittergut was first mentioned in a document in 1323. The current building dates back to the 16th century, with significant alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Owners and Residents
The Rittergut was owned by Georg Schnedermann in the 19th century. In 1896, ownership transferred to Paul Wilhelm Hermann Wittekop, and in 2002 to the D. Tillmann family.
Architecture+
Exterior
The building is a two-story plastered building with a hipped roof. The facade is characterized by its simple elegance and the symmetrical arrangement of the windows.
Interior
Inside, some original stucco ceilings and wall paintings from the 18th century have been preserved. The large hall on the ground floor was used for festive occasions.
Current Use and Public Access+
Today, the Rittergut houses a museum and is regularly used for cultural events. The park surrounding the building is open to the public.
