Groß-Lind Manor (St. Tönis)

The castle was built in 1730 and today serves as the headquarters for various companies.

Originally conceived as a stately residence for the noble family von Hohenstein, the castle underwent several transformations over the centuries. After the decline of the Hohenstein family in the late 19th century, it was acquired by the city and used for administrative purposes.

The Hohenstein Era (1730-1885)

During this period, the castle was the center of social and political life in the region. Numerous balls, receptions, and important negotiations took place within its walls. The architecture reflects the Baroque style of the time, characterized by opulence and grandeur.

City Administration and Public Use (1885-1990)

After its acquisition by the city, the castle housed various municipal offices. Parts of the building were also made accessible to the public, for example, for art exhibitions and cultural events. This era marked a shift towards a more public function of the building.

Modernization and Commercial Use (1990-Today)

In the 1990s, the castle underwent extensive renovation to adapt it to modern requirements. Today, it offers modern office spaces while preserving its historic charm. It is a prime example of how historic buildings can be successfully integrated into contemporary economic life.
