Fuglsang Manor, an impressive country estate on the Danish island of Zealand, captivates with its long history and current cultural significance. Originally conceived as a fortified complex, it now stands as an important museum that transports visitors into the past.

The origins of the Fuglsang estate can be traced back to 1368, with the original defensive structure located a few hundred meters north of the current site, where remnants are still visible. In the 16th century, the manor house was rebuilt at its present location on a larger island. That building was demolished in 1849 to make way for a neoclassical new construction, which was erected between 1878 and 1869.
