Dalberg Manor (Höchst)

The manor house was built in 1582 by Hartmut XIII von Cronberg (1517-1591) in the Renaissance style. In 1586, ownership changed to the Kämmerer von Worms gen. Dalberg family. It remained in family ownership until their extinction in 1811. After that, it frequently changed owners and was in municipal ownership from 1828. In the late 1960s, it was acutely dilapidated and was to be demolished, which was prevented by the resistance of citizens and the commitment of the Hoechst company. The renovation was completed in 1977. Today, the building is home to the Höchst Porcelain Manufactory.
