Busch Manor (Grevenbroich)

Haus Busch, a fortified complex located in isolation in the fields, consists of a 4-winged group of buildings. The existing building fabric essentially dates from the 2nd half of the 18th century. The 2-story, 7-axis residential building is built on an older substructure. The plastered residential building is adjoined by the brick gatehouse. The round-arched gate is built from sandstone blocks and bears a coat of arms. The barn wings are partly still preserved in half-timbered construction, but they have been altered several times. Formerly, the group of buildings was enclosed by moats and thus fortified. Haus Busch was probably one of the most important estates of the Lords of Wevelinghoven. The estate was destroyed by fire in the 15th century but rebuilt. Over time, Haus Busch changed owners several times (e.g., the Lords of Dincklage).
