Nursing home
Burkersdorf Manor
In 1205, Burkersdorf was established as a village with a manor house and a church situated above the village green. The initial owners were the von Neuenmarkt family, followed by the Roder family from the 16th century onwards. In 1699, the estate passed to the noble families Seydewitz and Carlowitz. Later, ownership changed to Baron von der Goltz. The current manor house was built in the first half of the 18th century on the walls of a predecessor building. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Subsequently, the land and estate were distributed to resettlers and the landless. The manor house served as a retirement and nursing home until 1990. After privatization and renovation, the new owners once again established a nursing home in the building.
