The moated castle Haus Voerde is located in the middle of a small park. Haus Voerde was built as a fief of Werden Abbey before 1200. However, Haus Voerde was first mentioned in a document in 1344. In 1688, a tower was added to the northeast side. Overall, the idyllic moated castle was rebuilt several times, without losing its charm. Since 1950, Haus Voerde has been owned by the city of Voerde. Today, the registry office and a restaurant are located in the building. In 2003, the kitchen in the basement was renovated.
