Pustekrey Castle

The Pustekrey House is a listed secular building at Alte Beckumer Straße 112 in Ahlen, Warendorf district (North Rhine-Westphalia).

The half-timbered manor house stands on a square moated island. It was built from 1614 to 1616. Originally, it was part of a larger complex, during the construction of which the builder Eberhard von Bischoping went bankrupt in 1624. The house is one of the few preserved noble residences in Münsterland built in half-timbered style with brick infill. The interior was divided into three equally sized rooms by two transverse walls. In the middle is the spacious entrance area, flanked by the multi-story side areas. The house was first modernized, renovated, and plastered in 1732 and then again after passing into peasant ownership in 1830. On the exterior, there are parts of an ornate fireplace with the alliance coat of arms of Bischoping and Kerkerinck. The house is in very poor condition.
