Langendonk Castle

Haus Langendonk Today, only the stump of the tower of the moated castle Langendonk, which was formerly located directly on the Fleuth, remains. The knight's seat was first mentioned in 1391. At that time, the castle belonged to the Electorate of Cologne's office and court of Rheinberg and was a Cologne fief. Since Haus Langendonk was owned by the von Wyenhorst family, who later took on leading positions in the administration of the Duchy of Geldern, it lost its original significance as a border fortress against Geldern. The still preserved three-story open tower stump with narrow window openings and a high-lying entrance opening suggests a fortified castle complex.
